About Secure Konnect
Secure Konnect was founded by Dr Edward Phelps (Ed), a technology leader and certified cyber security expert who has worked at the cutting edge of information technology for almost 20 years.
Ed’s career experience spans the transformative impact of digital technology on business, from the inception of open source software and cloud computing through to the explosion of big data and analytics, automation and artificial intelligence.
Between 2008 and 2016 Ed worked with UK, EU, Australian Federal, Queensland, NSW and Victorian State Government’s and industry on the digital transformation of public services. He worked with industry experts from leading tech companies including Microsoft, IBM, Fujitsu, Facebook and Google to help provide government with advice on harnessing the potential of digital technology to transform public service delivery. Ed was advisor to the UK Prime Minister’s Head of Policy between 2008-2012.
Ed moved to Port Douglas, Far North Queensland in 2011 as cyber security became more prominent and certified his experience in the sector. He worked in a number of roles as Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Risk Officer and Director of Cyber Security – working locally and remotely with businesses of all sizes across Australia from large mining companies to small retailers, tourist businesses and charities.

Founder
Ed is a friendly and accessible tech leader who talks the langauge of busines. He has worked at the cutting edge of the information revolution for almost 20 years and has held a number of Executive positions in the UK and Australia, including Chief Information Security Officer and Director of Risk for a State Government Department.
Ed holds professional certifications including ISO27001 (information security) Implementer and Auditor, ISO22301 (business continuity) Implementer, Prince 2 project management and AGSM Certificate in Leadership and Management. Ed has published widely on digital tech and cyber security.
